A Nail in the Wall
A Nail in the Wall
" . . . He will bring honor to his family name, for I will drive him frimly in place like a nail in the wall . . .
he will bring honor to even the lowliest members of his family."
--Isaiah 22:23-24 (NLT)
This was a word which Isaiah was to give to Eliakim, the palace administrator. God was replacing Shebna. God promised honor, stability and blessing "even to the lowliest members of his family." Eliakim would be a man of firmness, stability, and integrity. He would be made trustworthy by God's action. God would "drive him firmly in place, like a nail in the wall."
Father, please make my character sturdy and firm. Drive me like a nail into the wall of your Son, Jesus that I might abide in him. I want to be dependable, trustworthy, fixed in your name. Never to be removed or loosened. Thank you Father.
